Our valued client base includes commercial farms, smallholdings, open farms and owners of companion farm animals.
The practice consists of a combination of high quality experienced farm vets who have easy access to the specialist knowledge of consultants throughout the group, as well as to Biobest Laboratories for fast, accurate laboratory analysis.
Our practice also forms a base for veterinary student teaching, with regular clinical extra mural studies students and rotation students from the University of Surrey.
Our focus is primarily on preventing disease, with proactive measures and health planning for all farm species. Farm efficiency and profitability is driven by animal health; we aim to provide farmers with the best clinical and advisory services in order to maximise the health and productivity of their livestock. We also aim to give smallholders the peace of mind that they are fulfilling the specific needs of farm animal species with a dedicated, farm-focused service.
We offer a range of services to keepers of dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, camelids, goats, pigs and poultry, including health planning, disease investigation, TB testing, farmer training, clinical services and live animal exports. We also provide product export services.
We practice evidence based medicine, and endeavour to pass on our knowledge through client training courses, workshops and regular health planning visits.
We have access to a mobile foot-trimming team, facilitate AI on farm and also provide farmer training in these areas.
Thinking of registering with us?
New clients are entitled to a free pre-booked consultation. The visit fee is waived, and we can spend some time getting to know you, your farm and understanding the services you require. This introductory discussion is not charged for. If you wish to combine this visit with hands-on clinical work, this time is chargeable. This visit does qualify as a six month medicine prescription check visit.
Veterinary prescriptions
We aim to supply medicines at the best prices, ensuring that the price of the product does not prevent the most appropriate treatment or control program from being adopted. Clients may obtain prescription only medicines (POM-Vs) from their veterinary surgeons, the practice, or via our online pharmacy, Farmacy.co.uk. If clients prefer, we are able to offer prescriptions for medications (or medicated feed) for conditions we have diagnosed on farm. These are chargeable, and in accordance with the RCVS requirements for animals to be under our care before prescribing, you must be within our six month visitation time frame.
Medicine dispensing policy
We are able to dispense medications at the practice, or authorise through Farmacy.co.uk, if they are suited to your animals’ needs, and we have attended your farm in the past six months. Please note, for critically important antibiotics, diagnostics must be undertaken prior to dispensing. We may require 48 hours notice to dispense medication. In some cases, medications may need ordering in – our administrators will advise you of this timeframe. We would ideally like to take medicine orders before 11am.
